Sweet Summertime. It's true, summer is finally here and nothing says vacation like a beach and a bikini. But after hibernating during the winter months the thought of donning a two-piece may seem just as scary as seeing your father-in-law in a thong. But have no fear ladies, here are some tips to help you get that perfect body that will leave you strutting down the beach with more confidence than ever.

Of course you know that if you want to lose weight you have to eat properly. But one tip to help you with your diet is to make sure you eat most of your calories before 3 p.m. Research has shown that people who eat their biggest meals early in the day are able to lose more weight than those who eat the same number of calories later in the day. So make sure you eat a good breakfast and lunch and a light dinner.

If you want your skin to have that natural glow you must skip the high-sugar treats and opt instead for a hydrating, nutritious juice. Get out your juicer and combine 2 to 3 carrots, 1 apple, half of a small beet and one quarter peeled lemon. This nutrient-packed drink will give you lots of vitamin A and will help give your skin a rosy glow that you can show off in your new bikini.

If you're a pop drinker, stop. Carbonated drinks will leave you feeling bloated and can result in a belly-ballooning body. Substitute those drinks for a good peppermint or chamomile tea. You can also try grating some ginger into hot water together with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and some dried dandelion leaf.

Burger time

Summertime is filled with backyard barbeques and get togethers. But just because you are trying to build that perfect beach body doesn't mean you have to skip out on the fun. You can enjoy a good burger but just watch what you put on it. Skip the cheese and bacon and go for a topping of avocado, which will give you less calories but more flavor and vitamins.

It may be difficult to get yourself to a gym when the sun is shinning outside. But that's ok. You can do a good full-body workout outside. A high-intensity interval training is best because it not only burns a lot of calories while you sweat but it also gets rid of other calories well after your workout is complete by keeping your metabolic rate high. Try this simple type of exercise for the best results – take a dumbbell in each hand and do walking lunges and pushups for 30-second intervals for five rounds.
